Phase 3 Group Now Eligible for Vaccines

A recent article by Swoknews titled
"Oklahoma Opens COVID-19 Vaccine to Phase 3 Groups" reports that the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) announced all Oklahomans registered in Phase 3 of the state's vaccine distribution plan are eligible for the coronavirus vaccine. Phase 3 consists of staff and students in education outside of Pre K-12 and critical infrastructure personnel. The announcement comes shortly after vaccine appointments were made eligible for the Phase 2 group.
The Deputy Commissioner of Health, Keith Reed, credited the increasing vaccine supply and the state's efficient distribution plan for opening vaccine appointments to the next majority group. Their goal was to have every teacher vaccinated by Spring Break. Because they reached their goal earlier than expected, it gave the OSDH the opportunity of opening vaccine appointments to other groups quicker than anticipated. Keith Reed encourages everyone who is currently eligible to sign up for their first appointment as getting the vaccine will protect themselves and others and slow down the transmission rate.
Oklahomans that are in the new priority groups are encouraged to register through the state's
Vaccine Scheduler Portal. Upon registration, you will be able to see available appointments. The vaccine is free of charge to all eligible groups from Phase 1-3, and vaccine appointments are also made available through many other local pandemic providers in the state.
